STATEMENT OF TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

INTRODUCTION:

The effectiveness of teaching depends on teacher’s teaching philosophy. The teacher creates classroom situation according to his own teaching philosophy. The teaching philosophy varies from class to class and from subject to subject. We can’t apply the same philosophy to each and ever class.

 

As a teacher I believe in stress free classroom situation where the students are fearless to raise questions.

 

I also believe in student centered education education and on individual differences as well as inclusive education. Different class room situations should be created as per the need of student and subject demand. Every child has his own potency to learn. The more will be the involvement of the students the better will be the outcome of the class room teaching. Teacher’s role is just like a facilitator. The learning should be corelated with real life situation. Students should be facilitated and motivated to construct his own his own knowledge. Focus should be to develop the hidden potency of child. Different topics and subjects should be corelated. One should be move from known to unknown from concrete to abstract. Proper modulation of voice also plays a vital role in effective teaching. If we do not modulate our voice and continue teaching in the same tone the teaching becomes monotonous and ineffective.

    The teacher should be humorous and assessment should be a part of teaching so proper assessment strategy should be there. Reinforcement and appreciation of students work is also equally important part and partial of teaching.

     Project method, assignment method, educational tour etc are very effective in teaching. As far as science or Biology teaching is concerned practical classes are very essential. We should accept and respect the child’s idea and thoughts with open mind.

     We should avoid the negative comments to the students. We should not blame the students rather we should focus on improving our teaching philosophy or methodology. In my opinion every child is unique and important.
